Overview
Embark on In Search of Pleasure an epicurean journey into Italy’s eternal dialogue between land, culture, and the art of living well.
Between the hills of Lazio and Tuscany lies Tuscia, a land shaped by volcanoes, the sea, ancient Etruscan wisdom, and centuries-old olive groves. Here, at the private estate of Paolo Borzatta, Founder of award winning I&P Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO), unfolds an evening dedicated to Italy’s oldest pursuit: the search for pleasure as a form of meaning.
You will be guided through (six) Champagne and (six) extra virgin olive oil tastings led by world-renowned Maestros, alongside gourmet show-cooking and contemplative walks among ancient olive trees. As twilight softens the landscape, a candlelit five-course convivium becomes a meeting of minds. Here a philosopher joins the table to reflect on pleasure, harmony, and the meaning of a life beautifully lived.
This gastronomic experience is luxury at its finest, for the senses, the intellect, and the soul.

Meet the Expert
Paolo (Luigi Francesco) Borzatta
The founder of the award-winning extra virgin olive oil I&P Olii, Paolo Borzatta, and Shazia Naqui share a rare friendship, one born from mutual recognition and a shared devotion to Beauty. Shazia, founder of Naquist, whose Indian-Persian-Italian heritage forms a natural bridge between worlds, and Paolo, renowned for both scientific contribution and humanistic vision, are united by aesthetics, philosophy, and the art of living beautifully.
Together, they invite beautiful minds to explore not only extraordinary places, but also the depths of the human heart, led by an innate appreciation of beauty and a love-driven vision of humanity.
Born in post-war Italy, in the heart of ancient Etruscan lands near Bologna, Paolo’s journey has been shaped by intellectual breadth and cultural depth. Originally trained as a nuclear engineer, he later specialised in particle physics, serving as an assistant professor of physics at the University of Milan.
His professional life has spanned multiple continents: directing a major industrial company, founding an international consultancy firm, and working extensively across the United States, Russia, China, and South Africa. Since 1985, he has been deeply immersed in Chinese culture. He has studied the language, lived in China, and cultivates a profound relationship with its philosophy and traditions.
Beyond science, Paolo has dedicated himself to the philosophy of life’s pleasures, a path that culminated in the creation of his olive oil enterprise, with the mission of transforming flavour into joie de vivre, and elevating taste into an art of living.
He remains active in international consulting while managing his award winning extra virgin olive oil business, and he practices Chinese calligraphy daily. He has authored two books: one published exclusively on his personal site (The Shanghai’s Globe, 2000, in Italian), and another written on Twitter (when it was still Twitter), composed in 126 characters a day (Can I?, 2015, in English). Neither will ever be printed on paper, remaining intentionally ephemeral, like the finest experiences in life.
